The Bus Terminal and Market Square Taxi Cooperative is Belize’s largest taxi cooperative, offering dependable transfer services for both residents and visitors. Operating from the Bus Terminal and the Water Taxi Terminal, we provide travelers with smooth and convenient connections to destinations across the country.
The cooperative was officially established in 2004, following the government’s decision in 2000 to merge the country’s three bus terminals into what is now known as The Bus Terminal. Since then, we have grown into a strong and diverse organization of 52 members representing Creole, Maya, Mestizo, Garifuna, and East Indian backgrounds.
Our goal is simple: to deliver safe, professional, and efficient transportation for everyone who passes through our terminals.
Our shuttles provide dependable transportation across Belize, Mexico, and Guatemala, linking key locations like airports, bus terminals, and popular destinations. The vehicles are clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable, and our drivers are experienced and familiar with the routes. Whether you’re sightseeing or simply traveling from one place to another, our shuttles make the journey smooth and convenient.
Our certificate shows that Bus Terminal and Market Square Taxi Cooperative Society Limited is a fully legitimate and legally recognized organization in Belize. Issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries on July 5, 2005, it confirms that the cooperative was officially registered under the Co-operatives Societies Act and that all required by-laws were reviewed and approved. Being entered into the Register of Societies means the cooperative meets all government standards for operation and governance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and lawful functioning. This certificate serves as formal proof that the cooperative is authorized to operate within Belize and has been recognized by the state as a valid and compliant entity since its registration.
